to the
Brick
A free athlete wellness experience returning to Newark to invest in the next generation of girls.
Return to the Brick is a free, one-day athlete wellness experience designed to equip high school girls with the tools to succeed in sport, school, and life. Co-hosted by Brittney 'Slim' Sykes and N'Kayah Kersey, BCBA, Return to the Brick blends elite athletic development with whole-athlete wellness — covering mental performance, leadership, communication, and character on and off the court — and closes with a dedicated Parent Workshop equipping families with tools to best support their athlete at home and beyond.
Every dollar raised goes directly toward keeping this camp completely free for all participants — no registration fees, no barriers to access, and no cost to families.
A full sponsored lunch and hydration stations provided at no cost to athletes and staff throughout the day.
Every athlete receives a branded camp shirt — a tangible takeaway connecting them to the experience.

Comprehensive event liability and participant coverage ensuring a safe, professional environment for every athlete.
60 resource bags filled with tools, materials, and sponsor products athletes can use beyond camp day.

Two Newark Alumni.
One Mission.
Slim and N'Kayah are coming home. Both rooted in the Newark community, they built their careers through the same doors these athletes walk through every day — and they know firsthand what it takes to make it, and what too often gets left out.
Return to the Brick uses basketball as the vehicle, not the destination. The real work happens in the classroom sessions, the panel conversations, and the quiet moments when a young woman realizes her mindset, her voice, and her character are just as trainable as her jump shot.
Your investment keeps the doors open — no registration fee, no barrier, no asterisk. Every girl who walks in gets the same experience, the same resources, and the same message: you belong here, and you are being invested in.
